For the last week, the mechatronics academy has been hard at work with our new engineering design challenge. The challenge I am talking about is the minefield challenge. The challenge goes like this two groups are put up against each other in an arena, depending on how many mines they collect without knocking them over they will get a different amount of points depending on where they were disposed of. When the match starts you will first have 30 seconds of autonomous code and another 90 seconds of remote control time. Now that you understand the idea I am going to explain my groups approach to building and designing our robot. When we had all of our different designs together we came to a consensus to use my design because it was compact, and could store two balls. This part of the design made ours probably one of the most efficient. At the end of the challenge, we made it to the semi-finals, we only lost due to loosing balls and the opponent having a very good autonomous code.
